How to Star a Design Project
The star feature lets you bookmark design projects you're interested in, making them easy to view and manage on your account page. This guide explains how to star and unstar projects, where to view your starred list, and what starring does.
What is starring
Starring is a bookmarking feature on LynHub. When browsing design projects, if you find one interesting, you can click the star button to add it to your starred list. What starring does: - Marks projects you're interested in for easy reference later. - Lets you view all starred projects in "My Stars" on your account page. - The star count reflects how much attention a project has received, but it is not a ranking or evaluation. Privacy note: a project's star count is publicly visible, but the platform does not publicly display a list of who starred a project. Your star records are visible only to you. Note: starring does not notify the project author and does not affect the project's review status. Starring is a private bookmarking action.
How to star and unstar
In the action button area of the project detail page, there is a star-shaped button. The button shows the current star count and star status. - Unstarred state: the button shows an outlined star icon and "Star" text. Clicking toggles to a filled star and "Starred". - Starred state: the button shows a filled amber star icon and "Starred" text. Clicking unstars the project. Both starring and unstarring require login. If you are not logged in, clicking the star button will redirect you to the login page. After logging in, you can use the star feature normally. The star count updates in real time, so you can see how many people have starred the project.
Where to view your starred list
You can find the "My Stars" category in the "My Submissions" section of your account page (/zh/account or /en/account). This category shows your total star count and the title, type, and entry link of your 3 most recent saved items. My Stars shows the title, type, and summary of each saved item. Hidden or withdrawn items no longer appear in your saved list. Note: your starred list is only visible to you. Other users cannot see your starred content.
Common questions
Q: What's the difference between starring and "liking"? A: LynHub uses "star" rather than "like" because starring is meant for bookmarking and organizing, not expressing emotional preference. The star count reflects attention, not evaluation. Q: Will the author be notified when I star their project? A: No. Starring is a private action and does not notify the project author. Q: Can I star design requests? A: Yes. You can star both public design requests and public design projects. Q: Does the star count affect project rankings? A: LynHub does not currently have a ranking feature. The star count is simply an informational display on the project detail page.
